Vegan toiletries for my trip to India

Vegan toiletries for travelling India

It is important to me that all of my toiletries are 100% vegan, cruelty-free, and as organic and environmentally friendly as possible.

For hot, humid sunny weather here is the cruelty-free, vegan toiletries I am packing for my yoga teacher training course in India. All of the products in this article are things I have spent my own money on because I love the products and believe in the brands. Nothing in this article is sponsored :) all my own humble opinion.

Every time you spend money, you’re casting a vote for the kind of world you want.

Suncare

SuncreamAlba Botanica Very Emollient Suncare Active Kids Spray SPF50, 177ml is a product I haven't actually tried yet, but I just ordered it as it had rave reviews on Amazon. Fingers crossed it will live up to everyone's high opinion of it.

Sunblock powder - Powdered Sunshine from Lush (SPF15) is amazing to put on your face to fix makeup as an extra layer of sun protection and mattifying for shiny (sweaty) skin.

Aftersun - Lush Charity Pot smells like heaven in a pot. More importantly, the majority of the money you spend on it goes to charity, the one featured in the photo supports Fleecehaven Sheep Sanctuary, and the other pot I bought supports Eckington Against Fracking! It has aloe vera and works as a great aftersun, rich moisturiser and you get to smell angelic and donate to charity in one incredible purchase.

Insect Repellent

Avon - Skin So Soft is both moisturising aftersun spray and an insect repellent all rolled into one. My parents used it in Sri Lanka for 2 weeks and didn't get a single mosquito bite!! So I will be adding that one to my toiletries for this trip based on their rave reviews.

Insect repellent - handmade essential oil blend with aloe vera gel (citronella, clove, lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus, rosemary, and cajeput) from Totally Natural Skincare

Teeth

Toothpaste- Kingfisher Charcoal natural, fluoride free toothpaste, with a lovely minty flavour. I love this toothpaste, it makes my smile super white and it keeps my breath fresh.

Toothbrush- Humble Brush is an eco-friendly, socially responsible bamboo toothbrush. Every purchase goes towards funding projects for the benefit of children in need via the Humble Smile Foundation #GoHumble

Hair

Shampoo and Conditioner - Godiva Lush solid 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner Bar smells of jasmine and makes my hair literally shine so nicely. I usually need to follow up with a separate conditioner after shampooing, but this leaves me with soft, silky, shiny, sweet-smelling tresses with one simple wash. Ideal for the cold bucket showers where you need to keep dawdling to a minimum!

Face

100% Tea tree oil - (Body shop or anywhere really as long as it is pure essential oil) is perfect for preventing and reducing breakouts. With open pores all day long in a hot and dirty setting, spots are inevitable. Unless you come equipt with tea-tree oil on hand to zap your spots before they erupt! Tea tree is a natural antibacterial and it dries out excessively oily skin.

Tea tree water face mist- a refreshing toner that is incredible for oily or spot prone skin. It is antibacterial, antiseptic and antimicrobial and refreshing as hell.

Body shop Drops of Youth gentle foaming facial cleanser

Body

Aromaco Lush solid deodorant smells incredible. It contains witch hazel which leaves you fresh for hours. It feels a bit like a stick applicator. Just make sure you keep it wrapped up in something as it is prone to drying out when left unwrapped.

Lady Things

Mooncup is probably the most ethical environmentally friendly sanitary products that exist. They are healthier for you, last for years, and dramatically reduce the amount of waste you produce. The company is employee-owned, ethical, and multi-award winning. I find it much more comfortable and easier than previous sanitary options, and it takes up less space in your luggage. All round winner.

Being vegan just gives you such great karma.
