There Is Only Room For Better If You Make Space For It
Making space for exciting new projects means letting go of sometimes safer opportunities. This can be the same in all areas of your life, from business to relationship. If you stay in a relationship with someone who is comfortable but doesn’t give you the wow factor, you could be missing out on meeting someone who blows you out of the water, every. single. day.
In terms of in work, if you don’t love your job, what are you doing? I know it isn’t easy to change your work and career at the drop of a hat but I have been in the position of working for money rather than for love. It is soul-destroying in the long run.
Patanjali who wrote the yoga sutras said, “when you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bounds. Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.”
This is your dharma or duty or life purpose and it certainly is not about sitting in mediocrity hating your 8 hours a day you spend at work so you earn your time getting out of your mind at the weekends (because you hate your work so much!). We have all been there, trust me, once you set your mind to finding your dharma and listening the need to obliterate yourself for fun even goes away.
